Goodie Bag #1

Remember what parties were like when we were kids?

The Editrix

We would hang out with our girlfriends, gossip, play games, braid each other's hair--and when we left the party, we got to take home a goodie bag full of little treasures. Welcome to your own personal Goodie Bag, the newsletter of ChronicBabe.com. Every two weeks we'll bring you the scoop: news, resources, ideas--all kinds of goodies for the young, hip, and chronic.

Love, Jenni the Editrix

New today at ChronicBabe.com:

Squash Soup!

Our resident chef, Jennifer Hess, whips up a tasty recipe for you: Winter Squash Soup with Crispy Sage and Gruyere Croutons. Jennifer's "Chronic in the Kitchen" recipes include handy tips on minimizing prep time (buy frozen pre-cut squash), info on health benefits (squash's bright orange flesh is packed with beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant/anti-inflammatory which benefits the immune system and cardiovascular system), and ingredient alternatives to mix it up. Chef Jennifer rocks the kitchen!

What's on our plate?

Jewelry!

Jewelry! Jenni the Editrix loves to make jewelry. In fact, she has special pieces she wears on flare-up days to remind her that it's not all bad. This bracelet is full of orange goodness--the Editrix's fave color--and it never fails to brighten her spirits. Do you have a favorite hobby or habit that helps you through hard days? Let us know and we'll share your ideas with other Babes!

Did you know?

The Arthritis Foundation offers a ton of great resources online, including a comprehensive drug guide, a glossary of many types of health professionals, and tips on dealing with arthritis in work situations.

What we're up to lately...

We're Section 508-compliant! What the heck does that mean, you ask? Section 508 is an amendment to the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, which requires Federal agencies to use accessible technologies. We're not a Federal agency, but we still think it's important to be accessible to Babes who use assistive technologies like voice recognition software (which the Editrix herself uses), so we've made changes to our site to make it more user-friendly to all.

Do a friend a favor--forward this newsletter!

Goodie Bags are handed out every other Tuesday. Interested in advertising in the Goodie Bag? Want to submit an idea? Contact the Editrix.
